Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, representing the Cross River South senatorial district, on Wednesday, joined multitude of party members, stakeholders and dignitaries in a resounding endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu for second terms in office.

The grand endorsement and thank you rally, held at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar, marked the culmination of similar rallies previously conducted in the Northern and Central senatorial districts of Cross River State.

Speaking to journalists at the event, Senator Ekpenyong emphasized the commendable performance of both the federal administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Cross River State government led by His Excellency Governor Bassey Otu, asserting they deserve widespread commendation.

“Our dear Governor Bassey Otu has achieved great feats within just two years in office,” Senator Ekpenyong stated. “He has ensured the continuation of the Obudu Airport project, expanded Cally-Air operations and improved security across the state. Today, Calabar has reclaimed its reputation as the ‘friendly place’ and the ‘people’s paradise’.”

Highlighting the federal administration’s achievements, Senator Ekpenyong added: “At the federal level, the President has done what he promised to do by removing the corrupt practices of fuel subsidy and harmonizing the exchange rate. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership with the introduction of several impactful programs, including the groundbreaking Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, the Calabar section of which was flagged off just a few months ago. Furthermore, initiatives like NELFUND, the student loan scheme and the new minimum wage Act, along with numerous other reforms, underscore his commitment to national progress.”

Senator Ekpenyong concluded by reiterating the purpose of the gathering: “We are here to give them a vote of confidence, to express our gratitude to Mr. President and Mr. Governor, and to encourage them to continue their good work.”
