Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, representing Cross River South Senatorial District, has launched the fourth batch of his Education Support Initiative, set to disburse N100,000 each to 1,000 qualified students in 2026.

The announcement came via a statement from the senator’s constituency office, framing the programme as a key investment in human capital to boost access to quality education in the district. Now in its fourth edition, the scheme targets indigenes and residents facing financial hurdles in their studies.

Eligible applicants include undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in federal and state universities, colleges of education, colleges of health technology, and schools of nursing across Nigeria. They must hail from one of seven local government areas: Akamkpa, Akpabuyo, Biase, Bakassi, Calabar South, Calabar Municipal, or Odukpani.

This initiative underscores the senator’s ongoing commitment to dismantling financial barriers to education and fostering academic excellence in Cross River South.
