The Senate on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Army Staff.
This followed the consideration of reports of the Senate Committee on Army read by the Chairman, Yar’Adua, Abdulaziz Musa, at the plenary in Abuja.
The Senate unanimously adopted the committee’s recommendations.
President Bola Tinubu had on October 30 appointed Oluyede as acting chief of army staff following the illness of the former COAS, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
Lagbaja died at a Lagos hospital on November 5.
