The underlying agencies of the state government were constituted on the 3 March 2016 when the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, approved his most recent appointments. They are said to be constituted at the instance of the 8th Assembly owing to the fact that they are a fall out of legislative activities.

If you recall, the Cross River State House of Assembly under the leadership of Speaker John Gaul Lebo had deliberated on a Wharf Landing bill, Corporate Social Responsibility bill and Water Front Infrastructural Development bill where it was was argued by law makers that these could be avenues of wealth generation for the state. The bills made it to become 'acts of parliament'.

It's the prayers of this news retail outfit that the real essence that necessitated the creation of these agencies will be concrete. It is in view of this that we are charging the 8th Assembly to take the legislative business of oversight functions very seriously; not just over  these fledgling agencies but on all others -the economy of the state is seriously in tatters. We also wish to remind members if these newly constituted agencies/boards to a over all, take their service to the state as a matter of utmost priority. Any other mundane, ephemeral sentiments should be shoved aside for the interest of the state.

It's my believe, and that of others, that Cross River State's financial misfortune could be turned around.
