Too bad how Calabar reputation is going down in terms of clean and serene environment. We are used to hearing news like this outside the state, but now, we are on the news.
With frequent and steady dirts piling up for months now on every roads in Calabar without any solutions yet, the Federal Secretariats Complex located at Murtala Muhammed Highway beside State Secretariats Complex has now become a forestry zone.
Calabar Reporters have noticed that for months now the Secretariats has remain unkept with grasses competing with the heights of buildings while refuse dispose itself by decaying.
Workers now use sticks to shake off dew and rain water from grasses and similar plants before entering their office. Car parks are now choked up due to insufficient space for parking.
Our correspondent spoke with one of the workers about the issue and she replied by saying:
“This is how we are living for now and we’ve complained but to no avail as deaf ears is been given to us.
“She added, we are now staying with our hearts in hands as dangerous snakes and scorpions do invade the office every now and then”.
With the problem surrounding the waste management and disposal in the state, should we suggest workers go to work with cutlass and hoes?
