Secret Easter egg discovered for Tremor Brutality in Mortal Kombat 1; here's how to do it

As is par for the Mortal Kombat course, the newest Kameo DLC addition to the game, Tremor, has more than initially met the eye to his finishing moves.

Mortal Kombat 1 community has discovered that it’s possible to get an alternate Easter egg version of the new ninja’s “Rock Away” Brutality. We have footage of it below thanks to the efforts of both MK Habit and MKKollection.

The requirement for this Brutality is simple enough: hold up while performing a forward throw that’s going to KO your opponent. Doing this will see Tremor’s grab animation update from one that would likely kill you to one that even more conclusively kills you.

The rocky fighter manifests a massive spike from the ground to impale his foe and hold them in place while he proceeds to summon a boulder and smash it onto their head.

When done as a Brutality, said boulder will remain on the victim’s head (as if it were a giant pumpkin, of sorts) while what looks to be some inner magma seeps to the surface to form a an upset emoji face. It’s fun, it makes sense for the game, and seems straightforward enough, but developers snuck another emoji into the mix.

If you hold D2 (the command for uppercut) down while performing this kill move you’ll cause the emoji on the boulder to become a smiley instead of a sad face. Not the most profound of changes, but right in step with Mortal Kombat’s long history of cheeky and secret Easter eggs.
