Seattle police are actively investigating a series of violent incidents across the city over the past week, including a mass shooting in the Chinatown-International District, a fatal shooting in West Seattle, and a stabbing in North Seattle. The cases, which left multiple victims injured or dead, remain unsolved, with detectives working to piece together what led to the violence.
In the early hours of December 7, five people were shot near a hookah lounge in the Chinatown-International District. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 800 block of South Lane Street at 3:48 a.m. but found no victims at the scene. Shortly after, four people with gunshot wounds arrived at Harborview Medical Center in private vehicles. A fifth victim, who called 911 from the 2700 block of 4th Avenue South, received treatment for his injuries at the scene.
The victims, four men and one woman, suffered injuries ranging from minor to critical, with one man requiring emergency surgery. Detectives recovered multiple shell casings inside and outside the hookah lounge but have yet to make any arrests. The Gun Violence Reduction Unit has taken the lead in the investigation.
On December 6, officers responded to a stabbing near Licton Springs Park in North Seattle. At approximately 9 p.m., a 26-year-old man was found on the 9500 block of Ashworth Avenue North with a stab wound to his chest. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition after receiving on-scene treatment from officers and Seattle Fire Department medics.
Witnesses described the suspect as a tall, clean-shaven man wearing a gray jacket, last seen running northbound on Ashworth Avenue North. Despite a K9 search and aerial support from the King County Sheriff’s Department, police were unable to locate the suspect. The case is now being handled by the Seattle Police Department’s Homicide and Assault Unit.
Tragically, a 15-year-old boy lost his life after being shot in West Seattle on December 5. Officers responded to the 6400 block of 30th Avenue Southwest at 10:15 p.m. after receiving reports of screaming and gunfire. The teenager was found with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. Despite emergency medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
