Sean McVay looks lit, has hilarious reaction to Patriots selecting Cole Strange
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead reacted in real time to the New England Patriots selecting UT-Chattanooga guard Cole Strange in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Coach McVay was the one to note that Strange had been selected in the first round, to which Snead reacted by looking utterly surprised. McVay then went on to say that they had wasted their time looking at the guard thinking he would be on the board for their pick at 104.
“We wasted our time watching him thinking he’d be at 104 maybe,” McVay said.
The Rams head coach laughed out loud while looking rather tipsy. One of the users viewing even commented that the two men ‘lit’ and another said McVay probably had a few drinks.
Cole Strange was projected to go in the second round
Strange was projected to go at 98th overall by Bleacher Report and New England selected him with the 29th pick, well above projections.
The Rams traded each of their first three picks in this draft and won’t be on the clock until the end of the third round with a special compensatory selection at 104. McVay and Snead thought they had a good sleeper on their board in Strange, but Patriots head coach Bill Belichick proved once again that he has an eye for unrecognized talent.
When it comes to McVay and Snead, they probably were a bit tipsy, but that’s nothing to worry about. The NFL Draft has a reputation of coaches and front office members throwing back a few drinks to celebrate the imminent start of a new season.
