The day is finally here, Scott McTominay has left Manchester United for the first time in his footballing career.
The Scotland international has been Manchester United’s most sellable asset this summer with eight different clubs looking to the midfielder.
Although McTominay only agreed terms with Galatasaray and Napoli, there was also interest from Everton, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Spurs, Fulham and Fenerbahce.
Fulham were front runners for a considerable time, submitting three different bids for the star, matching United’s asking price of £25 million before deciding to opt for Sander Berge from Burley instead.
Napoli stepped into the gap that Fulham left behind, matching the asking price once more, with United putting a sell on clause into the deal.
Now, Napoli have made it official with a photo being released of McTominay signing his contract in a Napoli shirt in the middle of the pitch.
United have sent a farewell to the midfielder with a post on X saying: “The Red who lived his dream”
It continued: “Your United family wishes you nothing but success in this new chapter, @McTominay10”
McTominay has been joined now with another former Red Devil in the form of Romelu Lukaku who has also been brought in late on this summer.
