Scheduling Supervisor at MultiChoice

Purpose of the Position

To manage Macro and Micro Scheduling across all Showmax platforms, both linear and non-linear across SA and MAH.
To ensure the Scheduling workflow runs optimally, efficiently and maintains a high standard of quality.
To lead and develop the scheduling functions for Showmax

Key Performance Objectives

Scheduling Supervision

Provide day-to-day supervision of the entire Scheduling function for Showmax, overseeing the schedulers' management.
Ensure that workflows and processes are efficient, deadlines are met, and excellent standards are upheld throughoutthe value chain.
Enforce quality control measures and ensure they are in place across all Scheduling processes and workflows.
Communicate all schedule changes, updates, production breaks or any other changes within deadlines, to all stakeholders in the value chain.
Ensure contingency plans are in place for anticipated and unanticipated changes.

Ensure the following activities are performed effectively and efficiently:

Scheduling deadlines are met as per SOP.
Deliver accurate schedules and running orders.
Continuously complete schedule maintenance check to ensure there are no publishing errors.
Supervise adherence to regulatory policy according to SA and MAH guidelines.

Operations Management

Drive process and systems optimisation in close collaboration with Continuous Improvement
Manage the testing and maintaining improvements on all systems.
Act as the Business Super User for all systems including troubleshooting and problem solving.
Understand MM Failure Report for Peacock and pro-actively manage any missing files or fails in the workflow.
Manage escalations from the value chain and provide feedback with agreed upon SLA’s.
Liaise with Media Traffic and Media Processing to track content and trailer processing according to TX dates.
Escalate any late content to Media Traffic, Media Processing and make BTD VOD Ops aware.
Resolve any queries and errors raised by VOD QC swiftly and coordinate the resolution of such queries by Media Traffic or Media Processing when necessary.
Attend the content status meeting with media processing and media traffic.
On request and on an ad-hoc basis assist in any other relevant and future undertakings that will help ensure content availability on all devices.
Manage QC NON-TX failure email box and send relevant updates

People Management

Manage the Macro and Micro Scheduling team, including SOPs, roles and responsibilities, scheduling metrics and tools to ensure effective delivery of Business Unit Objectives.
Provide training and guidance to new scheduling team members, fostering continuous learning and skill development. Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance development and informal coaching.
Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members.
Determine and analyse development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed.
Approve leave requests for team members and create leave plan to ensure adequate coverage.
When required, initiate disciplinary processes for team members calling on support from Human Resources when required.
Resolve grievances raised by team members and escalate only if required.
Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognised.

Stakeholder Relations

Collaborate with stakeholders across Content Hub and Acquisitions teams both in SA and MAH to ensure effective communication and harmonious working relations exist.
Keep all relevant stakeholders updated on Planning updates (Scheduling, Ops).
Support the Content management team to translate insights into understandable, monetizable, tangible actions for the business.

Compliance

Query and resolve issues with relevant stakeholders.Escalate concerns to manager timeously.
Ensure macro schedules are released on time as per SOP.
Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, staying informed about changes in the streaming landscape.

Qualifications

A National Diploma or Degree in Business Management/Broadcast/Media Studies or equivalent NQF Level 5 qualification Advantageous

Experience

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in broadcast or similar position
Media and content experience advantageous
Proven experience in content scheduling within the Video on Demand or entertainment industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Proficiency in scheduling software and automation tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
