San Jose Barracuda’s Thomas Bordeleau suspended one game by AHL

SAN JOSE – San Jose Barracuda forward Thomas Bordeleau was suspended for one game by the AHL’s Player Safety Committee on Friday for his cross-check on an opponent in a road game against the Colorado Eagles earlier this week.

At the 16:21 mark of the first period of Wednesday’s game in Colorado, Bordeleau was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for a cross-check to the face on Eagles forward Chris Wagner, who had just hit Barracuda forward Danil Gushchin in the corner to the left of the Colorado net.

The Barracuda allowed one goal during the Eagles’ five-minute power play and lost 5-2 as Colorado swept the two-game series in Loveland.

Bordeleau will serve the suspension on Saturday when the Barracuda (24-16-2-3) play at Bakersfield. Bordeleau, a second-round pick of the Sharks in 2020, is fifth on the Barracuda with 25 points in 37 games this season.

The Barracuda are 1-3-1 this month and enter Saturday in fifth place in the AHL’s Pacific Division with 53 points.
