Samsung is getting set to unveil its latest flagship tablet, Galaxy Tab S8. A recent report on Twitter (Snoopytech) claims that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 will be very simple in terms of configuration options. First of all, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+ will be available in Wi-Fi and 5G versions. Furthermore, these devices will come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. However, Snoopytech claims that 8GB + 128GB is the only memory/storage configuration for these two models. In addition, the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+ only have two colors, dark gray and silver.
Secondly, the Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra also comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. In addition, the 5G version has 8GB and 12GB of RAM and 128GB / 512GB of internal storage. However, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra only offers dark gray color.
According to previous reports, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra tablet will be equipped with a 14.6-inch AMOLED display, support 120 Hz refresh rate, equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and S8 + are wider than the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra but without a notch.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra rumors
According to reports, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra uses a 14.6-inch display. However, the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+ will use 11-inch and 12.4-inch displays, respectively. The rendering of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra also shows the dual rear cameras in the pill-shaped camera module and the magnetic stripe for the S Pen. The 360-degree picture shows that it is equipped with four sets of speakers and Type-C ports. However, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra does have a small notch. This notch is not for any technology similar to Face ID, but just to provide some space for the front camera. The border around the display is quite narrow. Thus, in order to accommodate the front camera, the notch is obviously necessary.
Currently, the rendering of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is not 100% complete, which explains the lack of magnetic connectors on the left side of the frame. The dimension of this device is approximately 325.8mm x 207.9mm x 5.4mm. This makes it taller and thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+. Furthermore, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra may be the only device with a notch display among the three tablets. The Galaxy Tab S8 series is expected to be released in November or December this year unless the global chip shortage forces Samsung to postpone it until 2022.
