Salary Increase: Special Advisers Forum Hails Gov Otu’s Responsive Leaders

The Cross River State Special Adviser Forum has commended Governor Bassey Edet Otu for approving a salary increase for political appointees, describing the move as timely and reflective of responsive, people-oriented leadership.

The commendation was contained in a jointly signed statement issued on Thursday by the Chairman of the Forum and Special Adviser to the Governor on General Duties, Barrister Ekpenyong Akiba, and the Secretary of the Forum and Special Adviser to the Governor on Asset Management and Recovery, Barrister Gilbert Agbor.

According to the Forum, the salary adjustment demonstrates Governor Otu’s clear understanding of prevailing economic realities and his commitment to the welfare, motivation, and dignity of political appointees who support the implementation of government policies and programmes.

The statement noted that the governor’s decision has boosted morale within the political leadership structure and is expected to enhance productivity, dedication, and effective service delivery across ministries, departments, and agencies.

The Special Adviser Forum further described the gesture as a reaffirmation of Governor Otu’s people-centred leadership philosophy, which prioritizes fairness, inclusiveness, and the well-being of workers at all levels of governance.

The Forum expressed gratitude for the governor’s continued attention to welfare issues and pledged its unwavering loyalty and support for the successful implementation of the administration’s People First agenda geared towards the sustainable development of Cross River State.
