Ryan Hart didn’t need to do this disgusting swag combo to this poor Cammy player, but we’re glad he did

·

When you’ve played at the top of as many games and broken as many records as Ryan Hart, it can get to the point where simply winning becomes rather boring. When that happens, you devote your godlike fighting game abilities to figuring out the swaggiest sequences and looking for opportunities to land them in real matches.

With apologies to the poor Cammy that had to endure it, we’re bringing to you today just that kind of situation as Hart recently pulled off a devastatingly dirty punish combo with his Ken in Street Fighter 6.

First, we set things up. Hart sniffs out the fact that Cammy is trying to cheese her way through neutral with a sneaky jump forward dive kick, and nails it with a light Shoryuken anti-air. From there he runs up to his floored opponent to put the pressure on, but applies the breaks as he sniffs out a reversal OD uppercut.

We imagine Hart has spent a good amount of time in training mode practicing for this exact situation, because he immediately goes into a punish that belongs in a Desk video.

If we’re talking about the optimal route, the answer is probably to wait for Cammy to land and go into a routine (boring) punish that starts with a heavy crumple, cancels into the use of some three to five bars of drive gauge and ends with a nice corner oki situation to threaten for the round.

Instead, the seasoned pro command runs under Cammy before she hits the ground and launches into a medium tatsu (which hits behind him as well as in front) for a jarring visual as both characters fly towards the nearby left corner of the stage.

This being a Punish Counter grants an extra four frames of advantage and so Hart is able to combo into a medium punch that he converts into a juggle that launches Cammy up into the air.

Once again he runs under her and proceeds to pull off the same tatsu in the other direction, this time with Cammy being juggled from an airborne state.

The juggle continues with an OD Jinrai Kick and concludes with a level three Super. It’s better to watch than to read about this stuff, and you can do so (probably three or four times) via the embed here:

Do you think the Cammy will ever recover? Have you ever seen a more brutal style combo pulled off in a real match?
