Ryan Gosling has spilled the beans about his daughters’ behind-the-scenes involvement in the filming of Barbie. His little girls, Esmeralda, aged 9, and Amada, 7, are no strangers to the film set’s kinetic energy. They are his children with Eva Mendes.
These young ladies were regulars on the Barbie film set. Ryan revealed this during his guesting on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on April 11. He shared, “It was their interest in Barbie, and their disinterest in Ken that sort of started all this.”
The actor emphasized that it was a team effort. His daughters were part of the film and visited the set when he filmed a particular number. By “number,” he was referring to the Oscar-nominated, show-stopping “I’m Just Ken” song from the film.
Ryan, 43, humorously confessed that his daughters knew the choreography and songs better than he did. He even imitated how they showed him the dance moves, akin to Dance Moms. “They’re backstage showing me,” he quipped.
However, it was only after his onstage performance at the 2024 Oscars that his daughters truly grasped what it was all about. The Notebook star admitted that this was the moment when everything clicked for his girls.
