Leicester City are set to lean on a Manchester United legend to boost their squad in January.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who scored 150 goals in 219 appearances during his five-year spell at Old Trafford, is looking to use his connections.
Van Nistelrooy is believed to be looking for loan signings who can provide an instant impact in short term.
The Dutchman briefly impressed as United’s interim following Erik ten Hag’s departure.
However, he now finds himself as Leicester City boss, looking to make a stamp on his name as manager.
Van Nistelrooy has identified a United player he believes can make an instant impact.

That player is 20-year-old Toby Collyer, with reports from Mail Online suggesting United are open to a temporary deal.
Collyer, who earned praise for his “freakish” running stats in training, made his debut in Community Shield this season.
However, he has since struggled for further opportunities.
The England Under-20 international previously spoke about his desire for more minutes.
Van Nistelrooy’s familiarity with Collyer from his coaching stint at United could make Leicester the perfect destination.
A move that both sides may well view as a ‘net positive’, with one of United’s hot prospects developing in the Premier League.
It would very much be a loan signing that boosts Leicester’s chances of staying in the Premier League too.
Whether a loan deal comes to fruition, remains to be seen as of yet.
However, the deal is expected to move forward once the January transfer window opens.
A month which will be huge for United in outgoings and incomings.
Collyer is a midfielder viewed by the club as a defensive midfielder.
The Englishman would provide much needed cover alongside the likes of Harry Winks and Wilfred Ndidi.
