Ruud van Nistelrooy has provided new information on Christian Eriksen, after the midfielder missed Manchester United’s last game.
The Dutchman took charge of his first game as interim manager against Leciester on Wednesday, leading his side to an emphatic 5-2 victory.
Despite being eight players short, United eased past the Foxes to make it to the quarter-finals of the Carabao cup.
Now, Van Nistelrooy has commented on whether Eriksen will be involved in United’s game against Chelsea on Sunday.

Speaking to the club, the 48-year-old was asked if he will make many changes to the squad from Wednesday night’s affair.
‘Not many changes. We’re still hoping and working hard to get Christian Eriksen part of the squad,’ Van Nistelrooy said.
‘He’s working hard to make it in the last moment. And other than that, there’s no news on players that will be available, any other than yesterday.’
If Eriksen is unavailable, United will only have three senior midfield options – Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte.
Under-21s star Dan Gore is the only other player available for selection in midfield.

Van Nistelrooy recognises the challenge of facing Chelsea as prepares for his first Premier League game in charge.
A win could send United up to 10th in the table and four points behind Arsenal in fourth.
‘Yeah, it’s going to be a big match, a tough one. Chelsea playing really well at the moment,’ he said.
‘Lots of attacking power players who can decide the game, scoring lots of goals, playing very well on the ball.
‘So, we’re going to have to be at our very best, you know, to get a result, to get a good game. It’s obviously what we want.
‘We want to try and win it. But we also respect the opponent, know their qualities, and [what] we have to do.
