Ruud van Nistelrooy has already been considered for a managerial return, just a week after leaving Manchester United.
His exit was confirmed on Monday morning upon Ruben Amorim’s arrival in Manchester.
During Van Nistelrooy’s tenure as interim manager, United were undefeated, winning three games and drawing one.
His impressive audition with the Red Devils, and his previous success as head coach of PSV, has caught the eyes of two English clubs.

Manchester Evening News report that Leicester City boss Steve Cooper is walking on thin ice and Ruud van Nistelrooy has been earmarked as a replacement.
Leicester lie 15th in the Premier League table, only three points above the relegation zone.
As well as this, they have won just two of their opening 11 games and have suffered five defeats.
Van Nistelrooy faced the Foxes twice in his short stint with United, winning 5-2 in the EFL cup and 3-0 in the Premier League.
Before Leicester appointed Cooper in the summer, the Dutchman was on their managerial shortlist, and they may look his way again if results do not improve.

Another club reportedly interested in Van Nistelrooy’s talents is Championship side Coventry City.
Following Mark Robins’ dismissal, talkSPORT revealed that the former United striker applied for the vacant role.
However, Frank Lampard is considered the favourite to manage the Sky Blues, as he is currently in advanced talks with the club.
In his 51 games with PSV, Van Nistelrooy led them to 33 wins – an impressive 65% win rate.
He also won two trophies in his one and only year in charge: the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2022 and the KNVB cup in 2023.
