Ruben Amorim has decided it is in Manchester United’s best interests for Marcus Rashford to leave the club, as part of the ongoing cultural shift.
Amorim’s wish for Rashford to leave was confirmed by Jamie Jackson, writer for the Guardian. On his X account, he confirmed the rumours after Rashford was left out the squad following United’s 1-2 away win at Manchester City.
It is understood that Rashford’s drop in standards and mentality over the past several years is a huge factor as to why the Englishman is no longer required at the club.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is determined to enforce high standards at United, and is prepared to offload Rashford if suitable offers arise in January.
Ratcliffe is reportedly willing to accept short-term setbacks for long-term progress, a mindset that also led to the departure of sporting director Dan Ashworth after just five months, despite United paying £5m to secure him from Newcastle.
Amorim has also backed Rashford’s exit, seeing it as a necessary step to drive cultural change across the club.
United are open to a cut-price deal for the forward, though his £365,000-a-week salary limits potential suitors to a handful of clubs.
Ratcliffe emphasised the importance of managers being fully backed, when Amorim had arrived at the club.
Amorim was highly admired by Ratcliffe and Omar Berrada, due to his coaching qualities as well as his ruthless approach.
It therefore comes as very little surprise that Amorim has been provided with the final say on Rashford’s future at United, considering the club’s overall aim of the hierarchy sitting on the same wavelength.
Rashford was left out of the squad against Manchester City, much to the surprise of United fans.
However, it seems apparent that Amorim will target a left-winger of the required standard tactically and characteristically.
