Ruben Amorim has revealed that he is excited to work with one of Manchester United’s key players before he joins on Monday.
Due to the upcoming international break, the Portuguese manager will have 13 days to prepare for his first game against Ipswich Town on November 24.
In this time, he will look to impress his dynamic tactics on his new squad, which could see United playing with three centre backs.
Prior to joining, Amorim has announced that he is especially looking forward to reuniting with Manuel Ugarte.

‘All the Uruguayans I managed are incredible and that’s why I love all Uruguayans,’ he said to TNT Sports Mexico on Friday.
‘Ugarte is a very talented boy, and has a lot of room to grow. I am very happy to know that I have him back at Manchester United!’
The two worked together at Sporting CP from 2021 to 2023, before Ugarte joined PSG last year.
Despite his positive words, Amorim has previously said that the Uruguayan did not fit his system perfectly, which led to his sale in 2023.

He praised Ugarte’s quick passing ability but criticised his positioning and awareness at Sporting.
This eventually led to him being replaced by Morten Hjulmand.
‘They are completely different characteristics. Morten doesn’t have Ugarte’s ability to find players from all sides of the pitch with incredible speed,’ he said.
‘Morten has, and Ugarte didn’t have, the ability to read the game, anticipate moves and be well positioned.
‘We have to adapt the team to the players we have and Morten will also adapt to our way of playing, to our high pressing.’
Whether these concerns will remain at United is yet to be seen.
For now, Ruben Amorim seems to be thrilled to work with Ugarte again.
