Mason Mount has had an unfortunate spell at Old Trafford since arriving from Chelsea in 2023 for £53 million.
Whilst at Manchester United, Mount has already missed 30 games through injury, having sustained a calf injury last November, ruling him out of most of the season, only returning in March.
This season has been no different with a hamstring injury at the start of the season ruling him out of the matches against Liverpool and Southampton.
Mount returned to face Tottenham, however, a knock to the head resulted in the midfielder having to be taken off again, side-lining him for another seven games.
Since returning after Ruben Amorim arrived at Old Trafford, Mount has made a handful of appearances with limited game-time, easing him back into the squad.
However, misfortune struck once more as the England international was taken off after only 14 minutes in United’s 2-1 win over Manchester City.

Ruben Amorim praises Mason Mount
Now, Amorim has commented on the situation and aired his thoughts on his midfielder.
Speaking to United’s official site, Amorim highlighted how hopeful he is of Mount working under his system. The new manager commented: “Yeah, he really fits our style,”
He continued: “He will continue to fit because he’s a very good player. Also, outside of the pitch, he is the kind of character I want in this team and we want as a club in this team.
“He has a movement, it’s not like something he made a sprint. He made a movement and stretched his leg and felt something.
“It’s bad luck, nothing with the problem of the body of Mason Mount. It was a bad movement and he is going to recover because we need him.”
Whilst it’s unknown as of yet how long Mount will miss, Amorim’s comments are hopeful of a quick return so he can start finding his place in the new system.
