Well, it all looks set that Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim will be the new manager of Manchester United.
The news comes only a day after the United bosses sacked Erik ten Hag after a prolonged period of poor results.
While the Dutchman avoided being sacked on two occasions, his failure to provide improved results ultimately saw him lose his job at Old Trafford.
Only a day on, and The Red Devils have as good as appointed Ruben Amorim to the hot seat.
United have triggered his £8.3 million release clause which was discounted for The Red Devils thanks to a specific clause in his contract. Seven clubs would be offered the opportunity to half his release clause from £16.6 million to £8.3 million, of which United was one.

Currently, Dan Ashworth and Omar Berrada are in Lisbon finalising the deal with Sporting, ironing out the last few details.
It’s expected that the last few details will emerge following Sporting’s game with Nacional this evening.
Details known so far about Ruben Amorim to Old Trafford
At this time, it’s understood that Amorim has been offered a three-year contract, earning him between £5.8 million (€7 million) and £6.6 million (€8 million) per year.
While Amorim is keen to join United immediately, he does not want to leave Sporting in the lurch, wanting his successor to be lined up before he leaves the club where he’s won five trophies.
It’s understood from Fabrizio Romano that United have already begun talks with United about his backroom staff, with Ruud van Nistelrooy working as interim manager until Amorim officially takes charge.
The Portuguese manager does have a notice period which is currently being negotiated, which could see the young manager join The Red Devils around the 24th November, when United travels to take on Ipswich Town.
Amorim will be the club’s youngest-ever manager at only 39 years old, being one of the most exciting young talents in management right now.
