Ruben Amorim has been handed some encouraging news about Kobbie Mainoo, as he prepares to join Manchester United as their new manager on Monday.
The Portuguese will have 13 days to prepare for his first game against Ipswich Town on November 24, due to the upcoming international break.
He joins United in the midst of an injury crisis, with five players unavailable and three players doubtful for tonight’s game against PAOK.
However, Amorim will be excited after hearing today’s news about the upcoming Nations League fixtures, with multiple countries releasing their travelling squads.

Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford were both omitted from Lee Carsley’s England squad this afternoon.
Therefore, Amorim will have two weeks to impress his tactics on two of United’s most important players, as he prepares to introduce an exciting setup.
The 39-year-old showcased his dynamic approach against Pep Guardiola and Manchester City on Tuesday, leading Sporting to a 4-1 win in his last Champions League game with the club.
In possession, Amorim plays a 3-4-2-1 formation, with three centre backs and two attacking wing backs.
As soon as they lose the ball, his two full backs drop to form a five-man defensive line.

He demands high pressing from his forward line and relentless tracking back from his wingers, which will take time and an improvement in fitness levels to impress upon United’s squad.
The same expectation is demanded on Amorim’s midfielders, meaning Mainoo will also have to bear a greater burden.
He will work alongisde Manuel Ugarte, who has previously played under the Portuguese manager at Sporting.
There will likely be growing pains in the implementation of these ideas, which is why many fans would have preferred Amorim to enjoy a full pre-season tour to deploy them.
However, after sacking Erik ten Hag in the middle of the season, having an international break to do so is the best United can afford right now.
