Since taking over at Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim has been tasked with restoring Manchester United to their former glories for the long term after a treacherous post Sir Alex Ferguson Era.
Amorim is the sixth permanent manager in 11 years since Ferguson retired from management, taking up his role of the club’s global ambassador.
It’s been just as long since United won their last Premier League title, with Amorim now mounting a push to get the club back to the top of European football.
However, the drive isn’t for a short and sharp jump to the top, but for a sustainable fight to remain at the top when they get there.
With young stars like Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Rasmus Hojlund and now Leny Yoro at Old Trafford, there are a lot of impressive players to build the future of United around.
However, Amorim’s now named who he believes United will be built around.
Fabrizio Romano has now reported Amorim’s comments about “the future” of his team resting on Noussair Mazraoui.

Ruben Amorim hails Noussair Mazraoui as the future of United
Romano relayed Amorim’s feelings, with the Portuguese manager commenting: “He is a top player because he understands the game, he is very good defensively, very good one on one.”
He then added: “I think he is the future of our team, we need more players like Nous.”
Since arriving at Old Trafford in the summer for £12 million, Mazraoui has become a key player for the club, already making 20 appearances with two assists.
Already the Morocco international has shown his versatility, playing as a right-back and left-back, including a questionable appearance as an attacking midfielder under Erik ten Hag. However, he’s now settling into a centre-back role in Amorim’s back three.
So far, Statman Dave has reported that the 27-year-old has won more ground duels (71) than any other Premier League defender, with the highest success rate (66%) of any player to have contested over 100 duels.
