Ruben Amorim is all set to become the new permanent manager of Manchester United, succeeding Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman was sacked on Monday morning with assistant coach Ruud van Nistelrooy taking the reigns as an interim placement.
Whilst discussions have been ongoing with Sporting Lisbon to iron out the final details to complete the deal, Van Nistelrooy has recorded his first win in charge, beating Leicester 5-2.

However, van Nistelrooy is expected to leave the club once Amorim is in post, with a number of the Portuguese manager’s back room staff moving with him.
News has now broken from Alex Crook on X that Carlos Fernandes, Adélio Cândido and Jorge Vital are all moving with Ruben Amorim, as well as sports scientist Paulo Barreira and Emanuel Ferro.
It’s understood that the team aren’t set to move to Manchester until the 10th November.
However, the official announcement of Amorim’s signing could come as early as tomorrow.
This massive set of hiring marks the new era at Old Trafford, which comes shortly after ten Hag’s new team of coaches was assembled this summer.
The group have a huge uphill battle with United sitting in 14th in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League.
