With all sights set on the future of Manchester United under Ruben Amorim, the club are looking to remodel the squad for his playstyle.
Amorim transformed the Sporting CP landscape and playstyle, bringing the club five trophies in four years. A feat that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is hoping he can replicate at Old Trafford.
Already some top talent is being scouted to rejuvenate the squad ready for Amorim’s management.
A strong left-back has been needed for some time with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia’s injury woes, with Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rayan Ait-Nouri being front-runners for the role.
Then there’s Marc Casado, Barcelona’s exciting young defensive midfielder who’s broken into the starting XI this year. The 21-year-old has seen his transfer value rise by 500% in a matter of months to £12.6 million (€15 million).

Whilst it’s understood that United are battling Liverpool for Casado’s signature, new reports have claimed that the pair are set to come up against each other again in the race for an impressive young winger.
Ruben Amorim identifies his top transfer target for Manchester United
New reports have emerged, renewing United’s interest in Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The star currently has a price tag of £90 million put on him by Napoli, no surprise given his impressive showings this season.
The 23-year-old is being labelled “the next Mo Salah” with five goals and two assists in 13 games, helping Napoli hold onto their lead in Serie A and remain in the Italy Cup.
Now, CaughtOffside has reported that Amorim has made his thoughts on the winger very clear, looking for Kvaratskhelia as his top target as a replacement for Antony.
Whilst Kvaratskhelia is contracted until 2027, current renegotiations are stalling, opening the door for a potential transfer. The key factor affecting the winger agreeing to a deal is Napoli’s refusal to include a reasonable release clause in his contract, highlighting his potential to move away from the club.
However, Liverpool are also hovering, waiting to make a move for the star that they see as a long-term replacement for Mo Salah who’s out of contract at the end of the season.
