State-owned Rovers Football Club has acquired a new head-coach for the 2019/2020 football season NEGROIDHAVEN can say authoritatively. 
Mr Bob Osim is an indigenous coach who will be replacing the outgone headcoach from Romania, Mr Dorian Marin. 
Coach Osim who, Thursday, was a day old in the team disclosed that Rovers FC as a team was at the verge of being strengthened. According to his preliminary assessment, there were some good players from which he would do a pick. 
His words, ‘We are still undergoing screening, we are trying to see how we can beef up the team, bring in new players for the team for the season. So far so good —today is my first day with the team, with what I am seeing, we have good players to beef up the team for the season.’

The former Super Eagles player initially played for Ekabokon which he later captained after which he proceeded to Calabar Rovers, then to Mobil Pergassus FC Eket, and then to Iwuanyanwu National FC (now Heartland FC Owerri). Osim also played for Eyimba FC Aba who was among the team that won CAF Chapions League and super-cup in 2003/2004, then Rangers International FC and then Nigeria’s National Team (both Under 23 and the senior national team). 
He has coached Akamkpa United, Police Machine Calabar, CBN FC Calabar, owned Dynamic Football Academy then. He also coached Heartland FC Owerri(though not as headcoach). And now, Rovers FC which is the second biggest team he will be coaching. 
Speaking with the club’s General Manager, Mr Ebam Ejenosowor he said concerning the headcoach, Osim that, ‘Our target for the team is to ensure that we don’t get anything short of a promotion. He’s to also endure discipline and get us back to the Nigerian Premier League.’ 
Rovers is still at Nigerian National League.
