Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot are coming to Mortal Kombat 1 alongside the Khaos Reigns story expansion on September 24, 2024. Ghostface, the T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian will join the roster later on.
Earlier this week, NetherRealm Studios hosted a Kombat Kast that showcased what Cyrax and Sektor are capable of as playable fighters. Of course, we also received snippets of some of the major balance changes coming to Mortal Kombat 1 with the big update.
As such, Rooflemonger has recently released a video that has him highlighting the known adjustments. In particular, some of the Kameos are getting some new options that really strengthen the game plans that they allow for.
The Sub-Zero Kameo, for example, is looking pretty interesting as he can now provide every character with a makeshift counter. However, it seems that there’s a follow up option that’s even crazier.
After freezing the player’s point character, Sub-Zero can be commanded to then toss them at the opponent, similar to how Sub-Zero’s Ice Klone Toss worked in Mortal Kombat X. What makes this option strong is that the character that was effectively thrown like a projectile will then be left at an advantage on block.
As for Jax, he’s now able to grab the opponent’s Kameo if called with careful timing. This can be used to cut off some of the best options in the game for the opponent (other Kameos), which could mean that we’ll see Kameo Jax being used more often.
Of course, we also got plenty of time to see how Cyrax and Sektor will play as new DLC characters. Check it all out below:
