The Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Maramureș and Sătmar rebuilt and repaired more than five dozen homes in 2023 for families with many children or whose homes were affected by natural disasters.
The diocesan program, “Build a House, Build Souls,” spent $111,630 (513,500 lei) fixing 66 homes, which benefited 345 people, reports the Basilica News Agency.
Financial reports on all diocesan activities were presented at the diocesan assembly at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Baia Mare on Saturday.
Altogether, the diocese spent $1.125 million (5.175 million lei) on philanthropic and social activities last year.
