Rivers LG Polls: APP Sweeps 22 Council Areas

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has announced the results of the October 5 local polls.

Chairman Justice Adolphus Enebeli revealed that the Action People’s Party (APP) won 22 out of 23 council areas.

He said Etche Local Government Area’s results are pending due to its vast territory and 19 wards. “Collation is still ongoing,” Enebeli explained. “The commission wants to wait for completion before announcing.”

He said the Winning Chairmanship Candidates are

2. Ahoada-East – Chibudom Ezu.
3. Ahoada-West – Mr. Iyekor Ikporo.
4. Akuku-Toru – Hon. Mrs. Tonye Oniyide.
5. Andoni – Hon. Lazarus Gogote Nteogwuile.
6. Asari-Toru – Hon. Dr. Sule Amachree.
7. Bonny – Dame Hon. Anengi Barasua.
8. Degema – Dr. Harry Agiriye.
9. Eleme – Chief Brain Gokpa.
10. Emohua – Barr. David Omereji.
11. Gokana – Hon. Monday Dumiye.
12. Ikwerre – Barr. Isreal Abosi.
