He spoke with a gentlemanly air. “Rihanna is my aspiration,” he said. “She’s got a massive, devoted fan base. She’s a success story, no doubt.”
She’s been in the game for a long time. Think about it. ‘Pon de Replay’… that’s way back in ’05, ’06, ’07, ’08, ’09, ’10, ’11, ’12… Seven years of hard work in this industry. Props to her, she’s a force.
And with a bit of divine intervention, I hope to be in the same position seven years from now.
At the VMAs, Rihanna effortlessly stole the show. Everyone was curious about A$AP’s actions. They wanted to know if it was planned or spur-of-the-moment. And, of course, they wanted to know Rihanna’s reaction.
“I felt this confident spirit take over me,” A$AP explained to Hot 97’s Angie Martinez. “We had a blast. I’m grateful to her for that. I doubt she’d let me get that close if she wasn’t okay with it.”
Or…not.
“He touched my butt on stage. That wasn’t part of the rehearsal!” Rihanna told Vogue. “I was like, What are you doing?!” But then she recalled her manager’s witty remark. Apparently, she must have some fondness for him, considering she didn’t chew him out for his audacity.
