Erik ten Hag and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are making great efforts to pull together the new coaching team at Old Trafford as soon as possible.

With the team reuniting for pre-season training next week, the United bosses are keen to get the new team established quickly to make the most of the pre-season, giving an opportunity to find their feet before next year’s Premier League campaign.

United are set to travel to the States late in the month, with their first game in the USA taking on Arsenal on 27th July in Los Angeles. This game will mark the first pre-season game when the vast amount of the team will have returned from international duty at the European Championships and Copa America.

In the recent week, we’ve seen Rene Hake opt for a move from Go Ahead Eagles to become ten Hag’s assistant manager, with Hake expressing his excitement to work under the fellow Dutchman and move to the Premier League.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is also set to return to his former club and take a seat on ten Hag’s team after speculation of becoming the manager of either Burnley or Leicester, with both wanting the star power of the ex-United legend to help them onto winning ways.

Now it’s been confirmed that Jelle ten Rouwelaar is set to join Old Trafford as the Red Devils’ new goalkeeping coach.

The ex-Burnley goalkeeping coach recently left the newly relegated team following Vincent Kompany’s move to Bayern Munich, having followed the Belgian to the Premier League from RSC Anderlecht where they first started working together.

Ten Rouwelaar had signed to join Ajax two months ago, having only stepped foot on the Eredivisie club’s training ground two weeks ago. With the 43-year-old having only just joined Ajax, United have been working with the Dutch club to agree on a compensation fee for taking the goalkeeping coach so soon in his contract.

Reports from Dutch publication, De Telegraaf, claim that a fee has now been agreed, for a total of €100,000.

The report also commented that Ajax’s management were keen to support ten Rouwelaar’s move to United where the Dutchman will be earning three times his salary at the Dutch club.

Ten Rouwelaar was highlighted as the man for the job working with ten Hag as his approach and coaching techniques are reportedly to be very similar to United’s head manager’s style, hopefully complimenting the overall training programme.
