Jennifer Rubin, a columnist for The Washington Post, claimed that “Republicans want to kill your kids” during a recent podcast episode and criticized Republican senators considering the approval of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet selections.
During a Tuesday podcast episode of “Jen Rubin’s Green Room,” the Washington Post columnist criticized Trump’s cabinet selections and threatened that any Republicans in the U.S. Senate who approve Trump’s cabinet nominees should be forced to pay a “political price.”
“The people who irresponsibly put dangerous, treasonous, unfit people in positions of authority are responsible not only for those people, but for all the horrors that will unfold,” Rubin said. “And Democrats better get started now tracking these people, holding these people accountable and making clear to ordinary voters who voted for what and who’s responsible for what.”
The Washington Post columnist added, “You can’t talk broad themes. You have to boil it down to nuts and bolts, and you have to be pithy. What do I mean by pithy? How about this: Republicans want to kill your kids. It’s actually true.”

Rubin claimed that people who allegedly oppose vaccines, “stop breakthrough medical research,” and allow minors and other individuals to access semi-automatic weapons are “responsible for kids’ health and death.” The political columnist added that the criticism of Republicans has to be “that simple and that direct” and that it needs to be repeated “over, and over, and over again.”
According to The Post Millennial, Rubin previously was a conservative columnist before publicly opposing Trump and writing in support of Democrats. The outlet noted that Rubin also expressed anger this week after Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, co-hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend to restart communications with the president-elect.
Following Rubin’s comments during Tuesday’s podcast, multiple people expressed backlash against the political columnist on social media.
Conservative activist Robby Starbuck tweeted, “She should be fired over this if there’s any sanity left in the world.”
“In my opinion … this Jennifer Rubin woman sounds like a deranged nut case,” another social media user wrote. “Why the hell would your paper give her an outlet for her literal disgusting rants? It’s people like her that reinforce to the people of the world that your legacy media outlets can’t be trusted.”
Meanwhile, a third social media user tweeted, “Jennifer Rubin is a prime example of what is wrong with MSM. Completely unhinged liberal with free license from her employer to spout BS.”
