The Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA) has advised residents of the state and road users to report anyone impersonating officials of its agency to the nearest station.
This warning was given by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ARTMA, Engr Okonkwo Emeka-Konti in Awka on Tuesday.
He said that only individuals properly dressed in the agency’s official uniforms would be identified as proper officials of the agency.
Konto further stated that the primary duty of officials of ARTMA is to control traffic and ensure pedestrian safety and for residents to report to the police any impersonator or anyone enforcing any law with the name of ARTMA.
He said: “Please be advised that only individuals properly dressed in ARTMA uniforms, as shown in the attached picture, should be identified as our officers.
“The responsibilities of ARTMA officers are traffic control/ enforcement and pedestrian safety ONLY
“If you encounter anyone impersonating an ARTMA officer or enforcing anything else in the name of ARTMA, please report them immediately to the police or call our helpline on 08144228836 for prompt action.”
