Rene Hake joined Manchester United’s coaching staff in July this year.
He was lured away from his head coach role at Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles to join Erik ten Hag in the dugout.
His move to Old Trafford was controversial, with the Go Ahead technical director critcising United’s business conduct.
Now, after his friend was sacked on Monday, Rene Hake is expected to follow Ten Hag out of the door.

Mail Sport’s Sami Mokbel revealed that he will likely leave United once Ruben Amorim’s appointment is confirmed.
‘Manchester United coach Rene Hake’s position at the club is in doubt following the sacking of Ten Hag.
‘Hake, who is one of Ten Hag’s closest confidants, assisted interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy in the 5-2 Carabao Cup win over Leicester on Wednesday night.
‘But there is an expectation in the Netherlands that Hake, given his bond with Ten Hag, will leave Old Trafford once Amorim and his coaching staff are in place,’ Mokbel said.
Amorim’s first game for United will likely be at least a few weeks away, according to multiple reports.

The Portuguese manager is expected to take charge of United for the first time in an away fixture to Ipswich Town on November 24.
He will bring six members of his backroom staff from Sporting with him, further indicating that there will be no room for Hake.
Hake has been a first team coach for almost ten years – he was last an assistant at FC Twente in 2015.
His exit from Old Trafford is a surprise, but it can be expected that he will return to management after his short stint in Manchester.
