Nigerian beauty pageant Miss Chidinma Adetshina has been crowned as Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 at a grand finale of the annual contest in Lagos on Saturday, August 31.
Chidinma who has been enmeshed in controversy over her dual-nationality saw off four other contestants in the last five of the beauty contest to emerge the overall winner.
The 23-year-old law student also scaled through a tough first-round of tasks and test wits which had 24 contestants vying to become the next Miss Universe Nigeria 2024.
Miss Chidimma Adetshina representing Taraba State found her way into the final-five round, with other contestants including; Miss Rivers, Nyekachi Douglas; Miss Anambra, Paula Ezendu; Miss Edo, Edeifo Brittany and Miss Ondo, Ayegbidun Peace Olamide,
After tough scrutiny and evaluation, Miss Chidinma emerged as the winner of the contest with Miss Anambra as the first runner-up and Miss Supranational and Miss Ondo Ayegbidun Peace Olamide named as Miss Lush, and the second runner-up.

Her crowning as Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 comes days after she revealed how she dealt with her identity crises due to her dual citizenship.
Chidinma who opened up in an interview on Cool FM hosted by former Big Brother Naija star Tacha said that there were times when she had to cry herself to sleep over the issue.
She firmly noted that she was able to effectively handle her identity crises which sparked controversy between Nigerians and South Africans by changing her mindset.
Her remarks follow her removal from the Miss South Africa competition due to accusations made by the South African Home Office that her mother had committed fraud and identity theft.
