Reina dethroned as Tekken 8's most used character according to newly released popularity stats

Tekken 8 is easily the talk of the town in the fighting game community right now as the latest from Bandai Namco continues on with fiery momentum two weeks after initial release. Last week we got an interesting look at online character popularity stats thanks to the efforts of Aliette Faye, and it seems things have changed a bit since.

Continue on to see the updated statistics for the top 10,000 Steam users now that we’re a full fortnight into Tekken 8.

Reina was queen of the chart upon first inspection as the brand new character was used by a whopping 8.23% of all those in the sample pool. While she’s still clearly being appreciated by many, she has been dethroned and is now in second place with a still respectable 7.36% of the attention.

It comes as little surprise that new top dog is Sergei Dragunov, who has risen from second to first and now boasts a 7.47% usage rate.

The game’s other two fresh faces, Azucena and Victor, have stories of their own as the latter has remained firmly in third pace while the former has climbed somewhat substantially. While not quite as steep a change as Reina’s .67% decrease, Azucena has risen three spots (from ninth to sixth) with a .31% increase in usage.

The rest of the chart looks fairly consistent with small but noticeable shuffles from a handful of the roster. Check out the latest stats by clicking the thumbnail below, and let us know in the comments which characters you feel like you’re running into the most online.
