Arsenal academy striker Nikolaj Moller was in training with the club’s first team ahead of the now-postponed North London derby this week.
The Gunners recently confirmed on their club website that they had recalled Moller from his loan spell at FC Viktoria Koln.
The striker played 13 times for Viktoria Koln in all competitions. But he still wasn’t featuring often enough, making just two league starts from August 15th until his recall.
The young striker did get a few starts in the cups, and he scored three goals and assisted one in those three games. But in the league, he mostly came off the bench and never got on the scoresheet.
At the time, Chris Wheatley wrote that Moller was likely to be reintegrated into the u23s when Folarin Balogun headed out on loan, but that Moller is also wanted by several EFL clubs, so he could go on another loan himself.
We haven’t had any clarity on the situation since then. Moller hasn’t been playing with the u23s, which perhaps suggests a loan is more likely, but the rumour mill is quiet at the moment.
Arsenal’s first team are very low on numbers at the moment, hence the North London derby postponement.
Striker isn’t a particular area of concern though, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah seemingly available.
