Manchester United have now parted ways with sporting director Dan Ashworth.
Ashworth joined United from Newcastle to form part of the club’s executive team, which is made up of Sir Dave Brailsford, Omar Berrada, and Jason Wilcox.
The team were assembled by Sir Jim Ratcliffe after he purchased the club’s operations at the start of the year.
Ratcliffe has been trying to restore United to their winning ways by laying the groundwork for the years to come.
He’s been trying to balance the club’s finances, admittedly through some controversial cost-cutting schemes such as removing concessions from ticket prices, ending Sir Alex Ferguson’s multi-million-pound contracts and cutting funding to Manchester United’s Disabled Supporters Association.
On the pitch, INEOS have sacked Erik ten Hag and his coaching team, instead appointing Ruben Amorim and his back-room staff from Sporting Lisbon.
Meanwhile, he’s also assembled a strong team of executives and directors to lead operational decisions and recruitment,
However, the shock sacking of Dan Ashworth is now raising questions about the new structure at Old Trafford.

Manchester United parted ways with Dan Ashworth
Centre Devils exclusively revealed that the United hierarchy has now called for a top-level emergency meeting.
The primary focus of the meeting is the implementation of a new organisational structure.
However, it’s now been revealed why Ashworth has left United.
Reports from Alex Crook have confirmed that there have been struggles for Ashworth since day one, with the sporting director being unhappy with reporting to Omar Berrada and Sir Dave Brailsford.
The sporting director reportedly “felt side-lined” from big decisions at the club, that were ultimately decided by the pair.
The tipping point was reportedly the appointment of Ruben Amorim.
According to Crook, Ashworth was keen to appoint a British coach, favouring Gareth Southgate, however, Berrada and Brailsford had set their sights on Amorim.
However, a sacking as inevitable according to Samuel Luckhurst who reported that a source has commented: “so many cooks and egos in the structure that it felt like it was destined to have someone leave”.
United will now be looking to bring a new sporting director to the club.
Here’s hoping that the next incumbent lasts longer in the role than Dan Ashworth has.
