Real Madrid are now plotting a move for Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot in the wake of their recent rejection by Liverpool.
Madrid have been eyeing up Trent Alexander-Arnold for some time now, with the England international being a potential replacement for Dani Carvajal.
The LaLiga side are desperate to secure a quality right-back as Carvajal suffered a cruciate ligament tear back in October, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
As such, Los Blancos are keen to sign a right-back this January to fill the gap with Alexander-Arnold being the top of their list.
However, The Athletic have reported that Madrid’s approach to sign the 26-year-old was instantly rejected.
Now, in the wake of their rejection, Madrid are turning to Plan B, Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot.

Real Madrid look to Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot
The Portuguese defender has been essential for United over the last year, being the primary cover for the club’s left-back woes.
With Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia side-lined through injury for a considerable time, Dalot has been utilised on the left more than his natural spot on the right.
iNews has reported that Madrid are lining up a £50 million offer for Dalot in January.
With regards to Dalot’s place at United under new manager Ruben Amorim, much like Erik ten Hag, Dalot has been used primarily on the left.
Once a left-wing-back has been signed by United, it looks like Dalot would be competing with Noussair Mazraoui and Amad Diallo for the right-wing-back spot, with the pair already listed as untouchable this January.
As such it looks as though Dalot is further down the pecking order than this pair, making the £50 million a very attractive offer for Amorim who has no transfer budget for the coming transfer window.
Whilst Amorim and Dalot have a positive relationship, there are few United stars who the club will be able to get this kind of money for, making it a difficult offer to refuse.
