Young Kobbie Mainoo has been taking headlines day by day this season with his immaculate displays in the middle of the park.
The young midfielder only broke into United’s first team this season but has already made enough waves to land himself on Real Madrid’s watch list.
As Don Diario reports, it’s thought that the Madrid giants are keen on bringing in the teenager.
In an otherwise absolutely torrid season one may go as far as saying Kobbie Mainoo has been the only bright spot and his emergence has been superb to say the least.
Mainoo is expected to be the heart of that midfield for the better part of the next decade, and there are already talks underway over a new contract beyond his current deal, which extends until 2027.
According to this report, Mainoo has caught the eye of Real Madrid’s chief scout, Juni Calafat, and they are very keen on bringing him to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Real Madrid’s midfield is perhaps the most stacked in world football, boasting of names like Bellingham, Valverde, Camavinga and the ageless duo of Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić.
This, however, reportedly isn’t stopping Los Blancos from eyeing perhaps the most promising young midfielder in England.
The report also mentions that Real Madrid Don Florentino Perez sees Mainoo as a ‘very interesting’ signing for the side.
Real Madrid are gearing up to say goodbye to two proper midfield generals in Kroos and Modric so they may be looking for fresh blood.
If Madrid are serious about their interest, it will be very difficult to pry him from Manchester United, who see him as one of their own.
Old Trafford is also a better choice for young Mainoo and his development as he is already assured of a starting position in ten Hag’s side, something Madrid cannot offer.
