Manchester United flop Antony has recently re-ignited his career with a loan move to Real Betis.

The winger has already beaten his stats for the last year and a half with United, having scored four goals and grabbed four assist in 12 games.

This contribution to the quad is reminiscent of his time at Ajax which got him the £80 million move to Old Trafford, having scored 24 goals and grabbed 22 assists in 82 games.

Now, Real Betis are reportedly keen to retain their loaned star, even looking at extending his loan for another season if they succeed in securing Champions League football.

One of their other stars Isco has also commented on the extreme measures he’d like the club to take to secure the Brazilian.

Isco comments on desire to sign Antony

Manchester Evening News has reported a recent interview between Isco and DAZN where the midfielder jokingly commented: “We have to do one of those crowdfunding campaigns to see if we can bring him in for at least one more year.”

He continued: “I’m happy to enjoy Antony. The truth is that he has surprised us all with the humility with which he arrived, with his desire to help, to contribute. The truth is that we are very happy.

“We have noticed a change since he arrived, and we are very happy for him, for the team, and eager to continue doing things well.”

These joking comments from Isco are likely in response to Antony’s considerable wage demands, with the winger on £200,000 per week.

It’s understood that these demands are the main barriers to Antony’s suitors making a permanent move for him, with very few happy to agree to a salary like this, especially on the back of his form at Old Trafford.

As such, it’s been thought that United will need to pay off the winger in the realms of £10 million for him to accept a wage cut to move elsewhere, which could save around £20 million in the long run.
