Rasmus Hojlund currently has a lot of pressure on his shoulders at United, being the Premier League club’s only striker.
The Danish international has been vital for United this season, making 43 appearances across all competitions, with a total of 16 goals and two assists across all competitions, including an impressive set of performances in the Champions League Group Stages.
Despite United crashing out of the Champions League during the group stages, Hojlund was one of the top goal scorers before the competition entered the knock-out rounds, with only the Danish striker, Erling Haaland, Antoine Griezmann and Alvaro Morata scoring 5 goals across the 6 games.
With Anthony Martial having left the club this summer, and a new striker still yet to be signed, the Red Devils are still relying on Hojlund as the club’s chief goal scorer.
Sky Sports Denmark caught up with Hojlund at the European Championships in Germany where Denmark’s defeat to the hosts thanks to goals from Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala won the game for the Germans 2-0 for them to advance to the Quarter Finals.
Florain Plattenberg released his interview with the Danish striker on X, asking the 21-year-old his thoughts on Erik ten Hag remaining as manager, his ambitions for the upcoming season and his thoughts on the potential transfer of de Ligt to Old Trafford.
Hojund had nothing but praise for ten Hag, claiming to be very happy to be working under a “very good coach”, with the desire to score even more goals next year.
When asked about de Ligt’s potential transfer and if he’d like to play alongside the Dutch international, Hojlund remained very composed and refused to make comment, saying the transfer “is nothing to do with me, I can’t answer that question”, however did comment that he felt de Ligt is a good defender.
