Ranking the top 10 announcers in fighting games

We’ve got a fun fighting game top ten list for you today as the aptly named MrTopTenList counts down what he deems the best in-game announcers in the genre.

This is, of course, a very subjective topic but half the fun of videos like these is seeing whether or not you agree and then respectfully sharing your opinions in the comments… or something like that.

In-game announcers can easily fall out of the realm of perception simply because of how often we, as players, end up hearing them. That said, they add a palpable drama and hype to the action that we most definitely notice when it’s suddenly not there.

These disembodied voices often guide us through both menus and gameplay as they excitedly call out rounds, winners, and especially exciting parts of any given fight.

The content creator does apply a few rules to his list, mainly that he chooses just one example from any given franchise save for the two biggest, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, which have both been cranking out entries for over 30 years.

Before watching the video, consider listing off some of your favorites from over the years (I personally have an affinity for both of Street Fighter 4’s announcers, Killer Instinct’s, and Shao Khan in the early Mortal Kombat games) and see if Mr.TopTenLists winds up agreeing or not.
