Former Manchester United director Sean Jefferson is set to join Rangers as interim Chief Commercial Officer in January.
Jefferson, who spent years working in Manchester, will link up with former United colleague Patrick Stewart at Ibrox.
Stewart, now Rangers’ chief executive, continues to shape the club’s leadership team with familiar faces from his United days.
Nils Koppen was recently appointed as the new sporting director, while Stewart replaced James Bisgrove following his move to Saudi Arabia in the summer.
Fraser Thornton also became chairman, succeeding John Gilligan, who held the role on an interim basis.

Jefferson will replace Karim Varani, who leaves in January to “pursue new opportunities,” Glasgow Times reports.
Varani joined the Ibrox board in summer 2023 but is the latest high-profile exit from the Scottish club.
Jefferson’s arrival reunites him with Stewart, with the pair having previously worked closely at Old Trafford.
This tenure was during a transformative period for United’s commercial growth.
Jefferson played a key role in United’s global commercial expansion during his tenure, overseeing sponsorship deals.
The pair also oversaw strategic partnerships that significantly boosted the club’s revenue streams.
His expertise in building the United brand on an international scale, made him a vital figure behind the club’s off-pitch success during the 2010s.
Rangers are looking to replicate the kind of commercial growth seen at clubs like United.
By recruiting experienced personnel from Old Trafford, the Scottish giants aim to strengthen their brand and revenue opportunities.
This is not the first time Rangers have turned to connections with the Red Devils.
Amad Diallo joined the club on loan in 2022, impressing during his loan spell at Ibrox.
His appointment brings another link between the two clubs.
