Ultimate Fighting Arena 2024 has been capturing the attention of fighting game fans over this past weekend. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate seemingly got the most attention at the event as it led all the games in terms of entrants with over 560 competing.
We’ll be taking a look at the top 64 performing players at the event to get an idea of which characters are performing well. Needless to say, there are some interesting results to discuss.
Something of particular note here is that BMS|Bloom4Eva apparently made it into the top 64 portion of the bracket while selecting random the whole time. Considering that there are 86 combatants in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, this suggests that Bloom4Eva feels confident in his experience with every one of them.
Excluding characters given to Bloom4Eva through random select, the fighter that saw the most representation by this point in the bracket ended up being Steve once again. Of course, this continues to cement the idea that Steve is the best character in the game, though it took some time for the community to realize this after he was released.
Wolf, Pyra & Mythra, Luigi, and Pichu were also common picks within the top 64. While Pyra & Mythra and Wolf tend to be frequently used, it certainly is surprising to see Luigi and Pichu making it this far.
In total, 47 out of 86 characters (not including those played by Bloom4Eva) saw a fair amount of success at Ultimate Fighting Arena 2024. Needless to say, this is a good amount of variety within the top 64.
