As if having a Lovecraftian beast help you out during the fight wasn’t enough, Mortal Kombat 1’s newest character, Quan Chi, also comes equipped with one of the hardest hitting lines of pre-fight dialogue we’ve ever heard.
Being a noble protector of Earthrealm, the blind (and telekinetic) swordsman Kenshi warns the evil sorcerer of just how unwelcome he is, but Quan Chi’s response all but ends the fight before it begins.
NetherRealm Studios has gone above and beyond when it comes to building the personality of their fighting game characters, giving all of them distinct lines of dialogue depending on whom they’re matched up to fight with.
General fightin’ words work just fine here, but no team of Ed Boon’s is going to miss out on opportunities for clever references or, in this case, downright brutal, Nick-Canon-drops-his-drumsticks-right-in-front-of-you one-liners.
Mitsuownes shared the exchange between Quan and Kenshi on X. Check it out here and be sure you’re not in the process of drinking anything while you watch:

No callbacks here, just pure unadulterated and personalized attacks. We do have to note that, as good as this is, we are a tad worried NRS blew their “you can’t see me” pun a bit prematurely.
The line has become John Cena’s most famous catch phrase, and with the WWE superstar en route to Mortal Kombat 1 via upcoming DLC character Peacemaker, let’s just say we’ll be sad if we don’t get some clever WWE references with him.
Let us know in the comments below if this is the hardest hitting line you’ve heard thus far in MK1, and if you haven’t seen it already, be sure to peep the footage Quan Chi’s second Fatality.
