Putting retro sprites of Street Fighter's Dhalsim and Mortal Kombat's Scorpion on lighters is hilarious, genius, and we'll take 10 of them

Street Fighter’s Dhalsim and Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion have a very obvious thing in common — and no, it’s not that they both have ranged attacks. These two iconic fighting game characters both heavily utilize fire within their move sets, and even more similar is the fact that they both have attacks and maneuvers that see them spit fire from their mouths.

Though it seems kind of obvious in hindsight, I never thought to put either character on a standard lighter to make it seem like they’re performing one of their trademark flame attacks. However, that’s why Goh_Billy is the best in the business when it comes to creating real world items with fighting game twists on them.

Last time, we saw Billy make a candle that featured Guile’s classic flattop lighting up when it was lit. In the past, we’ve also seen really impressive things like old school Mortal Kombat Fatalities remade in the form of Valentine’s Day cards.

A few days ago, Goh_Billy shared a video on Twitter that saw a printout of Street Fighter 2’s Dhalsim sprite locked in the pose of his Yoga Flame special move pasted onto a lighter. When the lighter is clicked on, as Billy demonstrates, Dhalsim goes ahead and completes the special move IRL.

While something like this might seem a little silly or like not the biggest deal, it is worth mentioning that the Dhalsim video has over 660,000 views on Twitter right now. There’s something really endearing and nostalgic about Billy’s fighting game creations, and at the very least, they are always really creative and on point.

Because so many people liked the Dhalsim lighter, Billy returned with another one this time for Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion. Again we see the old school sprite for the character printed out and pasted onto the lighter, and this time it features an unmasked, skeleton-faced Scorpion as he is in the middle of his fire spitting Fatality.

If you’re in need of a good laugh or just want something to brighten your day, be sure to check out the two creations from Goh_Billy below and collect the guaranteed smile they will undoubtedly give you.
