It’s a bit wild to think that the first season of Street Fighter 6 is basically going to be done with in just about a month from now, and there’s hopefully going to be a lot to look forward to in the game’s second year.
One of the top SF6 competitors in the world FLY|Punk just released a new breakdown going over his top 5 most wanted changes for Street Fighter 6 Season 2 with a focus on nerfs.
If you’ve been following the player at all in recent months, his first pick probably won’t come as much of a surprise considering it’s the perfect parry mechanic.
He of course feels the move is too low risk for just throwing it out there, but the damage scaling makes it so the best thing to do afterwards is usually a back throw to toss the other player towards / into the corner and make them guess on wake up, which Punk is not really a fan of.
One of his suggested changes is only make perfect parry an option against specials (and presumably Supers) so that it can’t be abused as much as an anti-air option as well as potentially adding more recovery to tap parry to make it easier to punish if you aren’t already up in their face.
Number two on the list is probably a no-brainer for many players as well with a lot of people asking for Drive Rush to stop eating inputs pretty much since launch and maybe adjust how the screen freeze works though he’s not entirely sure where to go with that route.
Other parts of the gameplay that irks Punk includes the damage of level 3 Supers in particular, throw loops, more for Drive Rush as well.
We’ll let Punk do the explaining for why he thinks those are bad for the game and how he wants them changed, so check out his brief video below to get his full thoughts as we approach the end of Season 1.
