Manchester United are desperate to sign a left-wing-back over the coming months, give their current woes in the position.
The Red Devils have been reliant on Diogo Dalot to cover the role for an extensive period, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia being sided-lined through for over a year.
Whilst Malacia is back in the squad, struggling to get game time, Shaw is back out once more with yet another injury to add to his consistent time in the treatment room since November 2023.
As such, a long-term, reliable alternative is needed.
Whilst United have been looking at the likes of Milos Kerkez, Alphonso Davies and Theo Hernandez, it looks as though they may have identified who the top of their shortlist is.

Manchester United make an offer for PSG’s Nuno Mendes
Fabrice Hawkins has reported that United have made an offer for PSG’s Nuno Mendes.
It’s reported that PSG’s talks to extend Mendes’ contract past 2026 have stalled. This faltering in negotiations has now opened the door for other clubs to declare their interest.
RMC Sport have reported that Mendes is keen to leave the French capital, hence the stalling of the contract negotiations.
The 22-year-old has been a key part of PSG’s Champions League and Ligue 1 campaigns, making 16 appearances with two goals and two assists.
Mendes is considered a strong option for United having moved to PSG from Sporting Lisbon.
The left-back worked under Ruben Amorim after he graduated from the Sporting academy. This experience is expected to be a strong factor to his inclusion in United’s shortlist, already knowing Amorim’s system
Before moving to France, Mendes made 47 appearances under Amorim in the Portuguese capital, grabbing one goal and three assists.
Whilst the details of the offer haven’t been revealed as of yet, it’s understood that Mendes is considering the move to Old Trafford to reunite with his former manager.
